Halibut Fishing Charters out of Homer, Alaska
We offer several options for halibut fishing charters in Homer—
Full-, 3/4-, and 1/2-day options.
Guests can choose ¾ or full day trips on our big, stable 56-foot Ultimate, a full day trip on one of our 6-passenger boats, or book a quick 1/2-day trip with one of our affiliate captains. For fishing trips you will need to purchase an Alaska fishing license, plus a king salmon stamp if applicable. A license can be purchased online at Alaska Department of Fish and Game or at most sporting goods stores around Alaska.
Halibut Fishing on our 56′ Ultimate
When you fish on our 56′ Ultimate, your charter captain will be either co-owner Billy or Eric, along with our two deckhands. The Ultimate features two private bathrooms, inside seating for up to 18 people, plus additional seating on the back deck. In the main cabin, you’ll find a microwave, coffee maker, and a freshwater sink, along with an emergency TV for kids. Down below, there are bunks for your comfort. The Ultimate is one of the bigger big boats based out of the Homer harbor. It offers a very sea-stable platform and ample fishing space. It’s also fast, so we can reach places that the 6 passenger boats go, especially during full-day trips. We offer both full- and ¾-day halibut trip options, and private charters are available for larger groups.
A full day halibut only trip offers the most time to target larger fish. Guests can be the most selective on the full day trip with the maximum amount of fishing time available.
The ¾ day halibut trips give you the chance to spend a fun day on the ocean catching fish. The goal is not necessarily a big fish chasing trip, but big fish can certainly be caught. It’s a great option for families.
2025 Halibut fishing regulations allow 2 halibut per person per day with one of any size and one under 27 inches. There is no annual limit. No halibut fishing is allowed on charter boats on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

6-Passenger Boats
Our 6-pack boats include the Julia Lynn, the Outrageous, and the Pacific Sun. These boats run full-day trips, bookable as individual seats or as private charters. In addition to halibut only charters on these vessels, we offer a number of combo trips.
By regulation each angler is allowed to keep 2 halibut per person per day—one of any size and one under 27 inches with no annual limit. No halibut fishing is allowed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from charter boats.
